Today's Daily Lesson comes from 1 Samuel chapter 17 verses 17 and 18:
17 Jesse said to his son David, ‘Take for your brothers an ephah of this parched grain and these ten loaves, and carry them quickly to the camp to your brothers; 18also take these ten cheeses to the commander of their thousand. See how your brothers fare, and bring some token from them.’
Before David defeated Goliath, he was serving as an errand boy for his father, and brothers, and their military campaign out in the wilderness. His job was to bring rations from home to the camp where the soldiers were mustering their numbers and summoning their courage. David was serving the soldiers, and probably practicing his slingshot along the way.
Let us remember friends, the LORD is already preparing the next generation for battle. The LORD putting them right in the place they need to be. Today they are handing out cheese and bread; but tomorrow they'll fell Goliath.
Respect them.
