Today's Daily Lesson comes from Luke chapter 8 verses 16 and 17:
16 ‘No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light.
Every Sunday I conclude our worship services with the words, "The world needs your light".
Things come to light. People come to light. All creation is coming to light.
But light must shine. It must make itself seen. It has to have the courage to come out of hiding and make itself known.
The world needs your light. It needs your perspective. It needs your words. It needs your hope, and your courage, and your creativity. It needs your daring.
The lamp was not given to be hidden. The light was meant to be seen. It was meant to be shared. The lamp is yours, but the light belongs to the world. Let it shine.
