Today's Daily Lesson comes from Baruch chapter 3 verse 33:
The one who sends forth the light, and it goes;
he called it, and it obeyed him, trembling;
The light trembles. It quivers like a cord in the voice box, called upon to sing on a solemn day.
The light trembles. It flickers with a flame, seeming to die out again and again, yet still alive, surfing the winds on the tip of the wick.
The light trembles. It is afraid. It's dark out there! But its fearful motion is what makes the the wave that opens the human eye.
Someone said we are to speak, even when our voice shakes.
So, too, are we to let our light shine, even when it shivers.
And on the first day, there was shaking, and shivering, and trembling; but there was light.
There still is.
